Course Description
This course is a hands-on studio course that explores the creation of visual concepts using computer-imaging software. We will focus on computer-based illustration and design techniques that involve industry-standard drawing and painting software packages. Methods of teaching include: projects, lectures, demonstrations, and student critiques.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Demonstrate the ability of using the basic creation tools in Illustrator and Photoshop
Produce design pieces of various formats that show understanding of the
unique features of draw and paint applications
Show evidence of using the computer as a tool with a foundation in conceptual thinking
Discuss the place of computer-generated art in the current graphic design field—understanding
the possibilities and limitations
